Already Missing Canada, šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦ Niagara Falls is cool!

Day 19, Tuesday, Sept. 23, Port Dover to Port Erie, Ontario. 81 miles, Total miles 1,201

Oh my gosh, I just took a breather on a bench next to Lake Erie as soon as I sit down a lady pulls over and rolls down her window, ā€œDo you need a bike trailer to pull your gear?ā€ Her brother had just passed away, he was an avid cyclist. These Canadians, nicest caring people.

What a relaxing and peaceful ride this morning. First extended ride alongside Lake Erie coastline. Meandering streets alongside the coast with the lake over my right shoulder and mostly cottages on the left.

This afternoon I had a ride on a 20 mile paved bike path that took me all the way into Fort Erie. This will be my last night in Canada. I will miss the quiet light traffic and especially my new Canadian friends that have been so kind and friendly. Nicest folks north of the border.

Day 20, Wednesday, Sept. 24th, Fort Erie, Ontario to Niagara Falls, NY, 23 miles, Total miles 1,224

A quiet road following the Niagara River I get to ride on this morning to Niagara Falls. Still on the Canadian side as I ride 18 miles to get my first glimpse of Niagara Falls.

Seeing some mist in the air, falls are getting closer

As I got closer, I zig zagged my way through the pedestrians and sightseers along my way to get some pics.

From Canada side

I biked over the bridge to United States side. I was able to pass by the lineup of cars on the bridge waiting to get through customs and cut to the front of the line, not sure if proper, but what the heck. Us cyclists should have some privileges. šŸ˜ŠšŸšµā€ā™€ļø

I am excited to spend a couple days sightseeing. My significant other, ā€˜D’, is flying in from Minneapolis early this afternoon to spend a couple days with me sightseeing, will be so good to see her and rest my legs.

Day 21, Thursday 25th, Rest day at Niagara Falls

What a fun day getting wet and close up to Niagara Falls. We took the boat cruise on the Maid of the Mist and walked the Cave of the Wind to get drenched and close up to the falls.

Up close and personal
Boat cruise on TheMaid of The Mist
Nice to get off the bike for a day
Motivated to finish my ride through New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine to eventually dip my front tire in the Atlantic.
